It’s a nightmare sparked by almost anything; perhaps you heard barking? Or someone was snoring? We dream about all sorts of everyday stuff. It’s normal. And sometimes we have nightmares. They don’t mean anything. Dreams are no more than the stories you tell yourself in your sleep. Dreams are make-believe, the product of your imagination, which don’t mean anything more. One dreams of specific or random things because something triggers your mind and your imagination while you are sleeping and stitches together a story, frequently an odd or unusual fantasy. Dreams don’t mean anything. Dreams are from YOUR imagination. They may be sparked by anything out of your life, popular culture, television or the movies, literally anything you’ve seen, read, or heard. Most dreams are about everyday activities. Something seen or heard from which your imagination fills in the blanks while you are sleeping.
It would depend on why the dog attacked. My momma’s dog attacked her one time. It wasn’t meant to attack her, but she tried to stop this 250 lb beast while it was intent on chasing down and killing a rodent. I’ve never been attacked by a dog. I’ve had more than 30 dogs in my home over the years, many were skittish rescues. This makes me feel like if you understand dog behavior and meet them on their level, most have zero wish to attack a human. Many, if not most, dog attacks are understandable if you look from the dog’s point of view. Humans and dogs don’t necessarily think the same way. If a dog cannot live with humans, it may be kinder to send the dog to the rainbow bridge. If, however, the dog attacked because it was afraid or didn’t know what was going on, maybe just rehome the dog. No-kill shelters are a thing. I don’t think you should feel obligated to keep a dog that has attacked you. But please think about why the dog attacked.
Second, not all of these nations had ready access to the same variety of domesticable animals (or culturally choose not to eat certain ones, like how Hindu people won’t eat beef or how Jewish people won’t eat pork) so these cultures simply domesticated different animals for consumption. If you’re not gonna eat cattle, you’ll probably put something else into that ‘slot’ for domesticated animals, and that choice may look a little “weird” to people who do eat cattle. Third, many of these nations have suffered huge famine in the last few generations. How long ago can vary, but most of these nations have living citizens who did have to eat whatever was available, no matter what that might have been. China, for example, endured a truly stunning famine in the late 50s, early 60s. There are people alive and not even that old in many of these countries who would have lived their childhood out eating whatever foods were available. It’s fairly common for people to choose to eat the “poverty” food that characterized their childhood, even once the famine ends and they can afford “better” food. I can certainly speak to that – I have a fond love of boxed mac and cheese because it’s something I grew up with, but my immigrant friends who didn’t grow up with that kind of food think it’s absolutely disgusting, lol. And honestly, they’re right, it’s gross, but it doesn’t matter because nostalgia is strong and so I love it anyway. It’s like how Spam continues to be a touchstone of local cuisine in Hawaii – people end up with fond memories of food that others might not prefer, just because it’s a part of their childhood memories, and they pass that love on to their own children, who develop the same nostalgic love of it, and so on.
